Hope in My Children

When I'm not making. When I'm not cleaning. When I'm not caring. When I'm not driving. When I'm not talking. When I'm not watching. When I'm not looking ...

I wonder
Am I enough?
Do I have enough faith?

I pray
Give her more faith
Make her bolder
Give her confidence
A greater sense of purpose
of worth

I hope
Make him great
Allow him to achieve
Let him learn
so much
more

than me.

Not to Blog

This is for you, Melissa: Blogging. I love reading OTHER people's blogs because it helps me not sit around and think about my own (can I say) crap? But writing my own blog? I don't know. It makes me a little uncomfortable. Frankly, I've never been good about making my life/thoughts/ideas seem unique enough to write down for others to read. I'm a middle girl. Not boring, not exciting. Not smart, not stupid. I'm right there in the middle. So, really? What's there to write about? My husband and kids are TOTALLY awesome and top notch but they don't want me to write to cyberspace about that. They want me to tell them to their face. So ... I gave up on the blog. If my computer didn't automatically sign me in, I wouldn't even be able to post this :) However, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my friends' blogs because it gives me a window into their exciting lives and beautiful hearts. So, keep writing Becky and Melissa.

Nicolie Growing Into Her Own

Today I was able to work in Nicole's "class" at Mothers Together.  At almost 21 months her little personality is coming out.  She is so much FUN!  She has her own sense of humor, knows when things are funny, loves to be held (oh my aching back!) and is very communicative.  She's really starting to catch on to songs, colors, counting and even some letters.  Nicolie, your mommy thinks you're awesome!

Today was spent in our pj's, wiping snot, administering pink-eye drops into a defiant 4 and a half year old and watching the entire Rick Steves' Europe Through the Back Door marathon on PBS.  It was a big day.
